We believe there is one God, who has existed for all eternity in three equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God created everything we see and — because of natural limitations — cannot see. He created humans beings in His own image, specifically as male and female. Everything God created was perfect at the beginning, and He intended it to last forever to bring glory and honor to Himself.
We believe that Adam and Eve, the first humans, chose to sin when Satan tempted them, resulting in the corruption of their original goodness and the image of God in them. Because of their sin, all humans beings are now born as sinful beings, alienated from God, and corrupt in every aspect of their nature (physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually). Not only are we born with sin, we willfully chose to sin, and are guilty of the consequence of sin, which is death and eternal separation from God in Hell. The most significant need we have is to be brought back into right relationship with God. This need is unable to be met outside of God’s gracious intervention.
We believe that from the beginning, God planned to seek and save lost people from every tribe, nation, and tongue by sending Jesus Christ to save them from their sin. He did this because of His love and grace. God accomplished this redemptive plan over thousands of years through various people and nations, particularly Israel, God's chosen people. Jesus Christ came to earth, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect and sinless life, suffered and died as a substitute for sinners, was raised from the dead, ascended to heaven, and is currently seated at the Father’s right hand until the appointed time of His return. Any person who puts their trust in Jesus Christ and what He did is justified before God and inherits the gift of a restored relationship with God and eternal life. Salvation is by no means earned or merited but freely received through a person’s faith. However, the evidence of a person who has put their faith in Christ is that they have forsaken their former life of sin and have chosen to live for God. This great message of redemption is known as the Gospel, and it is exclusively the only hope we have for a restored relationship with God and eternal life with Him.
We believe God’s end goal is to restore all things back to perfection as it was before sin's corruption. God is currently doing this in part through His church, and the plan will be consummated when Jesus returns to earth in a personal, bodily, and glorious manner. When Jesus returns, he will exercise his role as the final Judge. At that time, both those who have believed in the Gospel and those who have not will be resurrected bodily and judged. Those who have believed the Gospel will inherit eternal blessedness with God and those who have not will experience conscious punishment in Hell forever. God will then establish the new heavens and the new earth where His people will live with Him forever, all to the praise of His glorious name.
We believe that humanity is unable to know God except through God’s gracious revelation of Himself to us. God has lovingly revealed His existence, power, and character through the creation as well as through Jesus Christ. Moreover, God has chosen to make Himself and His will known through human language in the Bible. We believe God has divinely inspired the words of all sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments as a record and means of His saving work in the world. These words alone constitute the verbally inspired Word of God. The Bible is utterly authoritative and without error. The Bible is sufficient for all that God requires us to know and do regarding our communion with Him, salvation, belief, and daily living. The Bible is to be believed in all it teaches, obeyed in all it requires, and trusted in all it promises.
We believe that God has given his church the opportunity to participate in the mission of proclaiming the Gospel and furthering the Kingdom of God to the ends of the earth. Every Christian is on assignment from God in their daily lives to make disciples and advance the cause of Christ through love, compassion, and justice. To accomplish this mission, God has given each believer the Holy Spirit to dwell inside them. Christians are to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit for renewal, sanctification, and empowerment to share this Gospel message with the world until Jesus comes again.
