Coastal Community Groups

are small groups that meet in people's homes in Berlin, Ocean City, and southern Delaware. Most groups incorporate food, fellowship, teaching, discussion, and prayer.

Everybody in our church is welcomed and encouraged to participate in a Community Group. When selecting a group to attend, take into consideration location and topic. If you try out a particular group and don't like it, feel free to try another group! We have an open door policy with all of our groups, so find one that best meets the needs of you and your family. Topic: Jesus, Not a Fan

Follow the journey of Eric Nelson, a man leading a compartmentalized triple life as a pleasure-seeking rebel, a cutthroat corporate executive, and a nominal Christian. But when confronted with a near death experience, Eric embarks on a spiritual journey that transforms his commitment to Jesus Christ and tests the faith of his friends and family. Based on the engaging approach of Kyle Idleman, this 6-week cinematic (DVD's) small group study examines what it means to deny one's self and truly follow Jesus.

    Topic:  40 Days of Love

Pastor Rick Warren teaches you how to make authentically loving God and loving others the deepest desire, highest aspiration, and constant focus. So, what is your number one priority in life? Your answer to that question reveals your dominant life value. Everyone has one whether they realize it or not. It’s what we unconsciously base our decisions on. God tells us that our dominant life value is to be loved. Jesus once said that of all the commands in the Bible, two are most important: Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. In this six-session study, Rick Warren shares practical, Christ-centered advice on how to authentically love God and love your neighbor as a normal way of life. With a focus on the spiritual truths of patience, kindness, truth, and forgiveness, you will learn to make love your dominant life value.

    Topic:  Believing is Seeing

(DVD Study) Dr. Tony Evans- Many of us have heard the phrase “seeing is believing.” But according to Tony Evans, if seeing really is believing, then none of us will ever truly see anything. The spiritual realm truly exists but getting a glimpse of that existence requires an active, living faith in the God who fashioned that faith. This 8-part series explores the power of faith in both seeing and benefitting from the work of God in the spiritual realm.

    Topic:  All In

(DVD Study) Mark Batterson-When did we start believing that God wants to send us to safe places to do easy things? Jesus didn't die to keep us safe. He died to make us dangerous. The will of God is not an insurance plan; it's a daring plan. It's time to quit living as if the purpose of your life is to arrive safely at death. We're afraid that if we go all in that we might miss out on what this life has to offer. It's not true. The only thing you'll miss out on is everything God has to offer. And the good news is this: if you don't hold out on God, God won't hold out on you.

Topic:  Putting Plan B Into Action

DVD STUDY / Pete Wilson- When God Doesn't Show Up the Way You Thought He Would. You have a story. So does the guy sitting next to you at Starbucks, the lady in the car next to yours at the stoplight, your best friend, your boss. A story of plans that fizzled, people who let you down, or goals that came to nothing. A story of a time you had to turn to Plan B. So, what do you do with a shattered dream? Or an unmet expectation? How do you accept your Plan B when God doesn’t show up the way you thought he would?  With powerful real-life stories of disappointments and tragedy along with biblical stories and teaching, the Putting Plan B Into Action Participant's Guide will lead you and your small group through the process of discovering the Plan B for your life, accepting your story, and embracing it as your reality. This is your chance to share with and embrace a community of believers to begin a journey of real healing and change.
